Rail tracks can be a fall hazard. Ride directly across the tracks at a right angle to avoid your wheels getting stuck in the groove.
Do not ride along the rail track.
Always cross the tracks at designated crossings.
Never cross in front of a moving LRV and avoid braking on the rail tracks.
Bicycles on board
Bicycles which meet our carriage requirements are permitted on the light rail and must be stowed in the wall mounted bicycle racks provided. CMET is not liable for any loss or damage to bicycles that are placed in the racks on board light rail vehicles (LRVs) including damage to wheels, tyres, or bicycle frames.

Taking your bicycle on an LRV
- Please ensure you board and exit with your bicycle through the double doors near the middle of the LRV.
- Upon boarding, place your bicycle into one of the four wall mounted bicycles racks provided.
- Each rack can hold a maximum of two bicycles/E-bicycles. The racks are designed to accommodate two-wheel, single-seat bicycles only.

Bicycle sizes permitted in wall mounted bicycle racks
Bicycles/E-bicycles must meet the following requirements to use the wall mounted bicycle racks located on board LRVs:
- The wheel diameter must be a minimum of 507mm or 20”, and a maximum of 750mm or 29”.
- The wheel/tyre width should be no greater than 63mm.
- The maximum weight of the bicycle and accessories must not exceed 25 kilograms.
- Cannot be a tandem bicycle, tricycle, fat bike, or have a petrol motor.
- E-Bicycles which are fitted with fixed food delivery storage (attached to bicycle) are not permitted on board the LRV.

Travelling with a bicycle on board
- Always remember to dismount before you approach the platform and when boarding and exiting the LRV.
- Bicycles are not permitted to be locked or chained onto the wall-mounted bicycle racks. All loose items (e.g., water bottles, bags, bicycle pumps, helmets) must be removed from the bicycle before placing it on the rack.
- A folded bicycle is permitted on board the LRV providing it can be placed under a passenger’s seat or on the floor, not obstructing passenger thoroughfare or able to be correctly stored in the bicycle rack.
- A small children’s bicycle (below 507mm or 20” wheel size) may be taken on board, providing it is not a peak service. It cannot be placed in the wall-mounted bicycle rack, instead, it must be carried or stored carefully not to obstruct passenger thoroughfare or block the aisle or doors.
- LRV drivers are not able to assist passengers with the operation or use of the bicycle rack. Our Customer Service Officers may assist if they are on board the LRV and it is safe to do so.
- CMET staff may request a passenger to not board or remove their bicycle from an LRV if they believe a passenger is interfering with the comfort or safety of others.
- Wall mounted bicycle racks are made available on a first come first served basis. If the wall mounted bicycle rack is full, riders unable to secure their bicycle in the bicycle racks must wait for the next LRV service with an available rack. Alternatively, a rider may choose to secure their bicycle in the nearest bicycle locker or bicycle rack adjacent to the stop and board the LRV.
- If a passenger fails to collect their bicycle from the wall mounted bicycle rack, the bicycle will be treated in accordance with CMET’s Lost Property Policy.
E-scooters on Board
E-scooters that meet our carriage requirements are permitted on the light rail providing they can be safely secured, noting that CMET is not liable for any loss or damage to E-scooters that are taken on board LRVs. Shared E-scooters, such as Neuron Mobility, cannot be brought on board LRVs.

E-scooters permitted onboard LRV
E-scooters must meet the following requirements to be carried on board LRVs:
- Be no more than 1250mm in length x 700 mm in width x 1350mm in height.
- The maximum weight of your E-scooter must not exceed 25 kilograms.
- Must be electric-powered (petrol-powered is not permitted).
- Cannot be a shared E-scooter, such as Neuron Mobility.

Travelling with an E-scooter on board
When travelling with an E-scooter there are certain rules you must obey:
- Always remember to dismount before you approach the platform and when boarding and exiting the LRV.
- You must always stay with your E-scooter and not leave unattended
- Board through the double doors near the middle of the LRV and use the bicycle/accessibility area during travel.
- E-scooters shall not be placed in the wall-mounted bicycle racks.
- If the allocated bicycle area is already occupied with bicycles, E-scooters can be stored in the wheelchair accessible area, providing there are no wheelchairs requiring this space.
- Ensure that doorways and walkways are always kept accessible.
- E-scooters must be turned off while onboard.
- CMET staff may request a passenger to not board or remove their E-scooter from an LRV if they believe a passenger is interfering with the comfort or safety of others.
