Light Rail Peak Extension Postponed

In line with the delay of the Transport Canberra bus Network 19 update, the planned increased light rail frequency to 5 minutes in the morning peak, extension of the evening peak, and earlier commencement of services on Sundays will also be postponed. These changes were due to take effect on Tuesday, 28 April.

CMET continues to operate the current light rail timetable, with peak services running every 6 minutes, as we respond to COVID-19. The implementation of peak extension will be reviewed at a later date.

CMET thanks our customers for only using light rail services for essential travel, helping to keep all of Canberra safe during the COVID-19 outbreak.
