CMET welcomes disability support organisation for a visit

Over the past few weeks, we’ve hosted members from Sharing Places, a community group dedicated to supporting adults who have primary intellectual disabilities.

Participants and their dedicated support professionals enjoyed a stop familiarisation, an LRV ride, and a tour of our depot. The aim was to provide an enriching visit that not only entertained but also equipped the participants with practical knowledge and confidence in using the light rail network.

These visits are tremendously important, especially to the professional support staff, who also experience how seamless travelling on the light rail can be. Projects Coordinator, Chris, said “The participants definitely enjoyed their experience! Especially when we all sang Happy Birthday over the PA system to one of the group! Thanks to everyone at CMET for making these visits so worthwhile.”

If you or your community group are interested in attending a similar event, please reach out directly to us. At CMET, we are committed to fostering inclusive and supportive environments for all members of our community.
