Out Of Hours Work May 2024

From Wednesday 22 May 2024, for two nights, Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) will be undertaking a deep clean at every light rail stop. This work will commence from Gungahlin Place and progress to each subsequent stop along the network to Alinga Street. Out of hours work will take place between 12am and 5am. There will be no impact to light rail services.

What to expect
Works carried out during the deep clean includes:

  • Hot pressure washing of landings.
  • Scrub and wash glass.
  • Squeegee of glass.
  • Hot wash of bin surfaces.
  • Hot wash of seatings.

Traffic and Pedestrian impacts
There will be no impact to traffic or pedestrian access through intersections.

Out of hours work
The work is required to be undertaken out of hours to allow safe access to the platforms and light rail network whilst light rail vehicles are not in service and will not impact passenger services. Our team will take every step possible to minimise noise impacts, however there will be times when the work may be noisy.

The work is subject to weather and operational requirements. Any changes or updates will be published on cmet.com.au.

If you have any further questions about these works, please do not hesitate to contact CMET via Access Canberra on 13 17 10 or at transport.act.gov.au.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while we undertake this important work.
