‘Travel Together, Stay Together’ – Helping Families Travel Safely on the Light Rail

We successfully launched our Travel Together, Stay Together campaign at this year’s Royal Canberra Show, educating parents and carers on how to keep children safe while travelling on the light rail.

As Canberra’s largest all ages event, we positioned our staff at the EPIC and Racecourse light rail stop, handing out free child safety wristbands and our Travelling with Children brochures.

The wristbands allow space to write an emergency number in case kids became separated from their family. The additional QR code printed on the wristband also links to our website, providing parents simple but effective tips to prevent child separations onboard.  The wristbands proved very popular with many parents asking for spares for future trips on the light rail!

This campaign highlights CMET’s commitment to safety and our commitment to a seamless journey for all passengers, ensuring that families feel confident when using the light rail.

We’re excited to announce that due to the success of the wristbands, our Customer Service Officers will continue to distribute these during other major Canberra events, including:

🌟 Enlighten Festival 2025 – Helping families enjoy the festival lights without worry.

🎆 Skyfire – Managing large event crowds with a focus on child safety.

🌼 Floriade – A perfect time for families to explore the floral displays safely.

Let’s travel together and stay together!
