Recycle For Sight

Today we recognise World Sight Day.

CMET and Transport Canberra recently teamed up together for a great cause. Recycle for sight is a Lions Club initiative that collects used glasses from the community. Once they are cleaned and reconditioned they are carefully packaged and shipped off to people in need, both abroad and to communities here in Australia.

Lions Australia have collected more than 7 million glasses over the past 26 years, with local Kambah Lions club collecting nearly 80,000. CMET and Transport Canberra are supporting this initiative by donating any unclaimed glasses that have been left for 3 months or more, from their lost property. Not only does this help to minimise landfill waste, it’s also providing much needed resources to the program. To become involved or to learn more about the program visit: https://bit.ly/3BY0pLu
