Fix ‘N’ Ride

Earlier this month, CMET attended a Fix ‘N’ Ride Bike Workshop hosted by Northside Community Service (NCS). The purpose of this event was for the community to bring their bike along and learn basic maintenance skills and practice how to board and store bikes when travelling on public transport. Our Customer Service Officers were available to provide assistance and demonstrations on how to use our onboard bike racks.

Two other community groups attended the workshop. A fantastic initiative developed for vulnerable and/or disadvantaged families in the northern region, is The Bicycle Library.  Offering free long- and short-term loans of quality second hand bicycles, enabling access to healthy exercise and transport. ACT Pedal Power, Canberra’s largest cycling organisation, was present and provided a range of information on cycling in ACT.
