From Sunday 2 April 2023, for 1 night, Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) will be undertaking essential repair works on the light rail platform at Mapleton Avenue. This work will occur between 12am to 5am. There will be no impact to light rail services.
What to expect
The maintenance work includes:
- Repair of damaged platform edging
- The equipment and plant to be used may include light vehicles, jack hammers, angle grinders and light towers. Due to the nature of the work, some of the activities will be noisy.
- The maintenance team will limit these impacts wherever possible by reducing the number of machines operating at the same time and turning off equipment when not in use.
Traffic and Pedestrian impacts
There will be no impact to traffic or pedestrian access through intersections.
Out of hours work
The work is required to be undertaken out of hours to allow access to the platform, which had sustained damage, ensuring ongoing operation of the light rail network, without impacting passenger services. The work is subject to weather and operational requirements. Any changes or updates will be published on cmet.com.au.
If you have any concerns or further questions about these works, please do not hesitate to contact CMET via Transport Canberra on 13 17 10 and at transport.act.gov.au.
We thank you for your patience and understanding while we undertake this important work.
