COTA Members and Grandkids Get a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Light Rail Safety

We recently welcomed members from Council on the Ageing (COTA ACT) and their grandchildren to the Light Rail depot for a special behind-the-scenes tour.

The visit was part of an initiative to help grandparents feel more confident and informed when travelling with children on the light rail network.

Guests had the opportunity to:

  • Step inside the cab of a light rail vehicle and see how it all works
  • Learn how to use emergency help points and the role they play in keeping everyone safe
  • Pick up useful safety tips tailored to travelling with young children
  • Take a ride through the tram wash – always a crowd favourite!

The afternoon wrapped up with some light refreshments and goody bags.

We’re proud to work with organisations like COTA ACT to support safer, more confident public transport experiences for older Canberrans and their families.
