Two of our employees, Ed and Jo recently celebrated a combined 14 years of service with CMET. Both commenced with the organisation back in 2018, even before CMET began operations. This year, they are also celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary, highlighting a remarkable partnership both personally and professionally.
Ed joined CMET as a light rail driver and quickly became a familiar and friendly presence on the network. Jo began her career as a customer service officer, helping passengers navigate stops and board safely. After gaining experience, she decided to take on a new challenge and trained as a driver.
Now both operate our LRVs and say that working together has been one of the most rewarding parts of their careers. On the days when their rosters align, they make the most of it by carpooling to work. It’s a simple routine that gives them extra time together, though they often joke (and occasionally debate) over who is the better driver!
Their long service reflects not only their dedication to CMET but also the strong sense of connection across the organisation. Ed and Jo bring professionalism, kindness and pride to their work every time they step into the driver’s cab. They are highly regarded members of the team, and their experience reflects strong teamwork and dedication.
